Career Inspirations…

Career Inspirations is a collection of uncommon successes in their industry who have a particular inspiration in their passion for focus and refusing to accept limitation. What you hold as an opportunity, others hold as a limitation… Let us not judge ourselves so harshly that we lose creative possibility!

SOME THAT I KNOW:

  1. NEVER TOO OLD for first professional job or that big life dream. Carol Eacret Simmons, assistant Professor of Art and Gallery Director at Dickinson State in North Dakota. Her series “Full Circle” is on display now in North Carolina.
  2. JibberJobber is a rich collection of career tools, resources, and documented professional ‘learnings’. Imagine being able to take the worst news of your professional life and allowing it to produce your next possibilities? THEN using that learning to inspire others on the road.. that IS Jason Alba. His latest has been a few social networking books on how to apply what he has learned — “I’m on LinkedIn, Now What” was the first…
  3. An Idol from a Web Designer? Trinh Lam was a brilliant web designer at Sun Microsystems… but he had a different song in his heart… and the audience picked a winner!

SOME THAT I RECENTLY FOUND INTERESTING AND HOPE YOU DO TOO!

  1. My dear friend Judith introduced me to the refreshing and inspirational story of Kathy Buckley an amazing five time American Comedy Award nominee, empowered actress, humanitarian, motivational speaker, and comedienne. “Every time we go for what we want, we miss the opportunity for what we need.”
  2. “Transformed personal hobbies into a self-sustaining business- doing what I love, and loving what I do.” Keng Lee hosts an interesting blog on success defined “Optimum Performance Technologies
  3. Linda Formichelli is a talented writer, speaker, and life artist. Linda’s website is www.lindaformichelli.com.
  4. Mark McClure inspires a sort of career agility. A fun read on the values of flexibility, adventure and the pursuit of professional best. His blog is http://markmccluretoday.com

Business – Law of Attraction Networking

Shake up Law of Attraction with Business Networking and you get …

Perspective * Possibilities * Optimism * Realism * Success * Creativity * Results * Focus * Hope * Probability *

Great Happens when you expect it, and take the steps to make a fortunate welcome of your desired outcome.

  1. Treasure opportunity and watch coincidences flow. The idea that (customers, recruiters, contractors, hiring managers) are annoying KEEPS you stuck.
  2. Integrity of Output/Integrity of Input: GIGO applies to good and bad with thoughts and Twitters. (Corporate Recruiter call you? Chances are good they use social networking too– likely very well.)
  3. Putting more time into what you “want” to accomplish rather than what annoys you, helps. Going negative entertains, it sells ad space, but it’s negative affect has a ripple quality to it.
  4. Building a list of well connected experts who can support your interests and goals is priceless!
  5. Regularly expressive emotions (embarrassed, angry, frustrated or fearful ) sometimes obscures the goal.
  6. Tell people about your intentions, your joy, and your goals. Communicating what you offer, and what you would like people to do, helps them to meet your needs, and them to identify you as an attractive choice to their business needs.

Time 2 Refresh!

A career service question:

Shouldn’t your Career Toolkit work as hard as you do?

Big hopes and profound dreams are given clarity and then reality through fine tuning. The clearer you can communicate your strengths and values, the more easily your professional skills will create opportunity for you.

What has your career portfolio done for YOU lately?

  • Include key words that specify areas of expertise or experience.
  • Quantify your value by adding results statements that underscore your value.
  • Are your Contacts on Social Networking able to reach you?
  • Are your references still current or reachable?
  • Refining your cover letter to introduce, highlight, and demonstrate your brand.
  • Send thank you notes to express appreciation for those who make a difference.

Been a while? Helping Friends offers a community of opportunity not just jobs. Let us know whats new and how we can help. We can provide resources that help you to bring your best self to the job search– because resumes are not any fun, if they don’t get results. Because social networking is fun, but resources to benefit everyone is even more inspired.

Tweeting Opportunities: Supply and Demand..

Wouldn’t it be great if we could be better citizens of our business through social networking?

The universe of possibilities are out there, vast, and limited only by our ability to employ them.
This is true in business and in life, that sometimes it is the circles we communicate in that can invigorate us or limit our belief systems. What are you doing to embrace your best personal self? If you want to embrace or energize an interest, start communicating to yourself and others about that which you are wishing to create.

SUPPLYING OPPORTUNITIES:

I have really grown to appreciate his industry and business savvy through twitter.. In fact there are a few people I have worked with for decades, but never came to appreciate until social networking. Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Plaxo have unique ways of bringing business people together to relate MORE to one another.

I have been giving much thought to the notion of Twitter’s Evolving Business Potential, that I realize my friend Micheal had done some great thinking in that area too as inspired by his question of the LinkedIn, I just happened to miss it. Michael VanDervort has an interesting knack for asking questions that get me thinking– he’s fun, friendly, and I would have missed a treat, were it not for the tweets..

DEMANDING OPPORTUNITIES:

Coming soon are some Human Resources and Professional Development social networking tips for remembering the better we are able to articulate a need, the better the resources can be engaged to provide resolution.

In business we have metrics to measure the customer experience, time to resolve, time to close, time to deliver, time lost, time gained, etc… What I am talking about is way bigger than that and sometimes we get so hypnotized by the routine, we forget what other potentials exist by perfecting our relationship to that routine.

I hear it from all sides– lets create some ideas and best practices for social networking for business results! From the recruiting house, how people lie on resumes, are unclear on their objectives, and they have to go through alot of bad to get to the good. From the jobseeking house, how recruiters are clueless to their needs, don’t understand the work they do, and they have to go through alot of volume and spam to get to compete for the few good opportunities.

Now CLEARLY if you are looking for talent, your ability to ask from a pool of people who are interested and benefit their friends by helping you is a win. Clearly if you are looking for a job, you are going to benefit from being able to work with a person who wants to understand you more than just a resume.

So why if GOOD and BAD opportunities exist, would we romance and energize our relationship to that which keeps us feeling stuck? Inspiration happens when you think and behave, and challenge your traditional rut, and find that it becomes a summit for your next journey!

The universe is full of plenty, and tweeting opportunities are on the air every day.. Let us explore the supply and how we go about enjoying the journey that is our life, and the demands we meet along the way. We will blog from your feedback and experiences how to improve the “asking” for help, to “get” the results you desire. That is one of those fascinating life arts that never ceases to amaze!

Reputation Aggregators: Projecting a Professional Image: Web 2.0

We KNOW that our resumes don’t get jobs, that people get jobs. We KNOW that most business opportunity is created through networking… and we KNOW that networking is the art of balancing what is represented about us, to compliment who we actually are.

The gift and delight of becoming open to opportunity is discovering that the business professionals that you would like to connect with, can, and would, also like to connect with you. In a “Web 2.0″ world, how can we compose our best online profile to represent our inline image?

Your objective, should you choose to accept it, is to Bring the Best of You to the Top of the Search Stack. It starts with “keeping” up, make sure to be managing your established connections and your new identity. In business, with people and possibilities in the dynamic, keeping current is time well spent, and time to tune your image. Keep your Profile, Contacts, and Connections Current.

Technology creates an extension of your character when managed, or a bunch of noise, unmanaged.

I. Keep Friends that Influence People and Inspire You:
Establishes you with those that value the tool, then introduce your badge or link to your signature.. Use creates Influence!
